This thread has been quite useful. My headlights are nearing the end of their useful life. For some reason, water (?) has caused (is causing) the reflective surface of mine to corrode. They're eleven years old and the vehicle lives outside. Maybe I just have cheap headlights. I really like the idea of switching to LED but a couple things are slowing me down.

First, there's the cost. From what I can tell, LED headlights are significantly more expensive. I can get a good pair of H4 headlights for $150US. An initial search shows that I can expect to spend closer to $500, if not more, for LED headlights.

Second, LED technology is still progressing at a fairly rapid pace. I can see maybe justifying the extra expense of buying great headlights with the understanding that they'll last many years. The thought of spending all that extra only to have new, better headlights available in a few years is a bit disconcerting.

That said, I could see spending the extra if the headlights are indeed that much brighter. And the thought of not having to replace bulbs is appealing. More research.

Thanks for all of the input and information shared on this thread.

I think for the performance is really good, low has a perfect cut off line and the highs are a very clear and focused light I'll try to get some pattern shots. The look is probably not for everybody for what I paid I can't believe they are as good as they are.

I have two 95 RRCs, one with the new Trucklite LED headlights and the other which has been running Hella H4s with some good bulbs (Hella 60/55 from what I remember, but I could be wrong since it's been a while) and the upgraded wiring harness. The Trucklites put out a little bit more light, but not much, but both have a great beam pattern. I saw a Nolden first hand recently, and was less than impressed, especially for the price. I actually thought my regular Hella headlights produced better light.

One thing to mention is that the Trucklites may look a little funky at first (purely on physical appearance). They've since grown on me, but a good thing to keep in mind.

Beautiful classic,
I'm considering the Trucklites, however, I'm not sure about the look. So thanks for the information. Maybe I should look more into the Hella replacement option you mention.

The Trucklites still put out more light, and they'd probably look more at home on a dark-colored Classic. I like them now, especially with the TWR kit. The high beam is really good.

Some reviews say Trucklites have this "X" pattern - an overlap of light, esp at high beam. Have you notice this?

I think there's a slight pattern as you mentioned, but it's not an obvious issue.

Watch the video reviews posted earlier. They clearly show the light patterns for all of the lights.

A quick plug for trucklite's quality and customer care. My passenger's side was going "blue" as I read about earlier in the thread, so I reached out to them and they shipped me anew one within 3 days, and requested the old to "test" to see what was failing. Great to work with!

Does any one know where I can purchase a set of the LED head lights from the Autobiography edition? I know rivermike was selling them, but are there any other sources?

I got mine off a vendor from eBay. The manufacturer in SoCal drop shipped it directly.
Other option is from Amazon.
I like mine, nice and bright.
This picture was taken outside of Yosemite.
The projection is pretty far down, tho iPhone wasn't very good at capturing that.

This looks identical to the Nolden 7" Bi-LED.

Design looks same, possibly same manufacture?

Black. a pair of them was $350 so I couldn't be chooosy.
PS I Love how they are marketed directly to Jeep owners, but there's a Defender on the box they come in.
