harness on 300 tdi injection pump

finishing buttoning the truck back up and have found a loose harness -- there's a 3 wire, 6" long harness coming off the top of the injection pump that terminates in thin air. I can't remember disconnecting it, nor can I find anything that it could possibly plug into. What the hell does this go to?

Hi Tony if your engine is retro fitted it could be the position sensor used in ecu controlled engines eg Disco's.

if the tdi was from a defender it will be for the egr and has nothing to do with the pump operation at all.

Excellent, thanks, all! Once the battery gets a charge and the snow dies off I'll see if I can't get her going.
