Harmonic damper

It has come to my attention that my 300Tdi lacks a harmonic damper.

I know I want one.

Is this generic or specific? Will any 300Tdi HD work? Does anyone have one for sale?

Thanks,

Mike & Carrie

Don't know, that's why I'm asking.

You mean the crank pulley (damper) - ERR2220?

Same on all 300tdi, sure we have a few in stock.

You need to be a little more specific as to what you are looking for. don't think it is possible to not have the one on the engine. Perhaps get whoever to you that you need one to post up what they are talking about.

British 4X4 of Reno changed the IP on my 300Tdi (a Disco engine transplanted to my '88 Defender.) When I picked it up, I was told the harmonic damper is missing. Unfortunately, the owner Brian is the one with the details, but he is elk hunting this week.

I assume I pull the bolt on the end of the crank, line up the damper to the key and re-torque the bolt?

If all 300Tdi dampers are the same, I'm interested. If there are a variety of 300Tdi dampers, what do I need to know to get the right one? What is your price?

Thanks,

Mike & Carrie

The engine's harmonic dampener is integrated into the crankshaft pulley. It is not possible to have a running engine without it. There must be some confusion. There is only one crankshaft pulley/dampener.

Truck is running? No ancillaries without the damper/pulley as it drives the belt running the alternator, fan, steering, and water pump. I suppose you could run the truck without, but not for more than a few seconds...

May need to get some clarity from the shop on what is "missing" or if yours is damaged (rubber isolation layer splitting, or hardened)

Or they may have meant that the "flinger" is missing - the part behind the damper

My pulley/damper, not right side up.

Is this the correct part?

Bump.

Does the picture of my crank pulley (message #9) look like the correct part?

I have 3 300tdi powered trucks here (2 I've just done timing belts on) and they all have exactly the pulley you/John picture and nothing more.
