Happy Birthday

So for my baby's 20th Anniversary, I decided to give her a total makeover. Upgrade all lights to LED (interiors, exteriors, Headlights), plus add some LED accent lighting inside. I'm also Dyna matting the entire thing, and when I say entire, I mean the entire interior, plus part of the engine bay. Replacing all old worn out and broken interior pieces and trying to seal all those unsightly holes and draft sources. Also building new cabinetry to a) house a Parrot bluetooth system to integrate with my Pioneer AVIC N2 & Boston Acoustics custom system b) provide interior console upgrades, replace damaged drivers side dash, and other cracked interior pieces c) create cubby boxes in the rear cabin to house accent lighting and storage. Power locks and power windows will finally reinstalled. I've found Rhinoliner to be a godsend in other applications so I'm getting at all those rust spots on the taillights, bumper guards, underneath, and a few spots inside scraped away and then rhino lined.

There's a lot I'm forgetting, but with the help of my friends at MMI (Mobile Movement Installations) based in NJ, they are going to town trying to provide some comfort, cosmetic and safety upgrades to this old beast.
I should be getting some pics soon of the progress.

I just wish there was a true ABS retro fit kit that worked,a s everything I've seen online seems to be bogus. Any one found anything legit yet?

Keep tuned

Why are people so obsessed by abs in this country?

Funny, that's exactly what I thought about this thread. But it's your ride, and you can pimp it if you want.
Be sure they rhino line over the screws and rivets and everything so no one will mistake your truck for one worth buying in the future.

Boy I see the idiots are in full form tonight. I guess for someone who depends on this truck remaining old & sub any country's safety standard by importing crap that that even the British laugh at the Americans for obsessing over.
Pimp??? So by putting rhino liner on a previously rusted over panel is "pimping my ride"? Ok dude.

Next time you're importing the British remnants from junk yards. Stop in a LR dealerdhip & see what LR is putting out since the early 2000's.

Moderator please feel free to delete this thread. I thought some members would be intersted in some basic upgrade info 99% of which are purely safety security & restorative in intent. But clearly so called know it all's complain of any change to a design long abandoned by even the manufacturer.

Please don't delete it. When the poor truck goes up for sale Josh will need to post this link.

I'm obsessed with abs on 22-25 year old females mostly posting on The Chive.

Those are the only abs I can think of right now...

This thread is useless without pictures.

ECR did do this for a client who's wife insisted he had it. They said it wasn't worth the effort and they were getting paid to do it.

Personally I think investing time and effort learning how to control a vehicle properly will pay more dividends than investing in An ABS retrofit that may or may not function optimally when needed.

Sorry for the delay. It's amazing how much can need repairing & replacing on a 20yo vehicle beaten to the ground. This is just a sampling. Plenty more to come. All pretty self explanatory (before and after displayed where appropriate). Included are the complete LED upgrades and power door lock actuator placement.

More Pics...

-of some more repairs of those dashboard & front pieces that have become brittle, cracked & broken over the years.
- we extensively dynamatted the entire truck, from floor to windows.
-Lastly, I've been asked about some of the custom work I had done for her 10th Birthday, so I've included pics of the custom box (sub) built on to the rear door & built Boerboel (SA Mastiffs who used to go with me every where till I got 3 super sized versions) proof.
10 years ago I did the stereo work by AVI in Boston (not sure if they're still around, but they were pretty high end back then). We relocated the stereo from the cubby box to the front dash, and placed the brains of the Pioneer AVIC N-2 at the base of the cubby box. The Amp & brains of the subs were placed in the compartment under the passenger seat, waterproofed & a permanent exhaust fan was placed to prevent any moisture accumulating.
All compartments under the seat are now dynamatted and we will add the Bluetooth (Parrot) system to the AVIC unit to comply with modern hands free sorry im driving. cant text laws.
More to come...
