half shaft???

As anyone ever experience something like this? I had to tighten the wheel bearing on the back of my 110. After the job done, I pull the half shaft out a bit to make sure I'll be able to put the O ring back. Pull a little too hard so the shaft got out.. Put it back but this time it when too much in. Try to pull it out again... IMPOSSIBLE! I'm freezing my butt out at -12 with that damn half shaft.. Someone please before I burn the truck help me!

Thanks

Is it possible that once push too far an half shaft can be stuck? Can it go through the diff gear and need to be rotate to align back the splines? If no one suggest someone else I will brave the weather (-20) to get the rear diff pan out and try pushing it from the diff housing.

Pull the other half shaft and use a long thin "poker" to push the shaft out, I think that will work on a Salisbury. The axles can't go in far enough to engage the other side gear.
If nothing else works weld a nut to the end of the halfshaft, thread a scew into it for a handle.
You cannot get to the halfshaft from under the diff cover.

Try a strong magnet on a rod. I've used them to pull the broken piece of a half shaft out of a diff.
