I have a 88 D/110 with 3.5 and LT85, Do you think I will need a different shafts?

Second question- My connection from my trans to Nicks adaptor has a gap the thickness of a Lokar sticker.... Should these bolt up snug?

I'd say so...

And are the bolts bottomed out that hold the trans to the adaptor ?

Motor Conversion

When will the Final kit be ready as a complete package to install and or buy from anyone? Also anyone in the NYC/NJ area doing these for customers, I would love one but don't have the time to do it myself.

thanks
mike

There is no "kit". Just parts. Way to many variations on applications and builds to have a single kit. Parts are a-la-carte.

Also there are several reputable vendors on the forum who have already done these conversions are located on the eastern seaboard.

Hey Nick, I've tried emailing / pm'ing you a few times over the last week or two. I have an almost new lmg gen 4 w/ 6l80 4x4 sitting in my garage, that I can't install bc I need your transfer case adapter and a few other parts. Are you still doing these? If so, let me know bc I'm ready to purchase these. I want to hear this engine rumble Thanks

Engine Mounts delyed

I received bad news yesterday. The shop that has been bending the engine mounts refuses to do any more. Seems I have designed a part that is near impossible to bend on a press brake. After having a conversation with the press operator, I now understand the problem. On the final bend, the part crosses the centerline of the press die and runs into the punch. Even with a gooseneck punch. It has to be bent in a channel forming style punch/die.

So I am faced with making a press forming die for the engine mounts. This will delay the mounts shipping for the current orders. I will post some pictures. It's kinda cool.

Nick I operated many different press brakes for many years and might have an idea of how you can make them.

If I am understanding the issue it will add 2 more steps but should not be a big deal.

Send me a pic to my email or give me a call if you want to discuss.

I got the adapter buttoned up=) Sand paper took care of a very uneven surface.

What is the correct way to measure the shafts and what are the correct measurements?

If I need new shafts, does anyone have used ones for $ale?

Thanks

Posted these rad hose pic's in the Gen III thread but thought they might be of use to Gen IV installs too if anyone is using an Allisport V8 rad.

Bottom is just a cut down Silverado 5.3 lower hose. Top is made up of ACDelco #20260S (GM#88907860) and ACDelco #22058M (GM#88907978). Both were cut down and they'll be joined by a 6" aluminium tube with a tab to bolt onto the rad shroud.

NOTE: My complete driveline is moved back 1" to allow for the rad shroud, without that you'll not get the fans in and clear the water pump snout.

You can also make up rad hoses from those silicone elbows. That's what I did.

Yup... but I wanted ones that were off the shelf in the local parts store, one of my reasons for swapping out the old 3.9 was to make servicing a little easier/cheaper as we only have NAPA & Lordco here. Anything LR specific has to be shipped in on my dime and that's generally 30bux minimum every time. If your living in a large metro area it's not a real issue.

But if you get silicone, it never needs to be replaced, so access to replacement parts is not an issue.
