Yeah, I definitely wouldn't advise it in any truck that hasn't been run through top to bottom. This was a full nut and bolt build so everything is new and tight. I've been in some trucks that are downright scary over 50!

Looks great Ash. What was your method for blacking out the chrome bezel?

88mph @2600rpm? That's awesome.
What kind of gas mileage did you get?

Bug the guys at Dakota enough and they'll send you a bezel that you can refinish on your own, then send back to them for assembly.

Not the greatest. 11.8-12.0 with the few times I calculated it. I think it drops off fast after 70.

Nick--PM sent. Please include me on the list for the current run, and I can pick up in SD in that's more convenient for you. Thanks, Michael

I agree Andy. This thread has become unmanageable.

By the way, I got the Ashcroft dead pedal today. Looks way beefier than stock. THeir wider brake pedal should also work just great too.

Guys, that's my truck Ash did the conversion on. He did a great job. I'm going to post a vendor review in a couple of days after I've had a chance to detail the truck and take some pics. I just drove it from Orlando to Austin straight through with no problems. Still some final minor bugs to iron out but this thing is awesome.

Well folks. Bit the bullet and bought myself an lmg out of a 2013 Sierra with 11k original miles. I figured since the whole front of my 110 is apart anyway, I might as well keep going in the opposite direction. Although this 70 some pages of thread gives me a headache with the info of what I have to do, I can't wait. Thanks "veterans" for making this process very supportive. If anyone is local in Austin that has an ls conversion, please pm me. I'm sure I will have plenty of questions through the process. Thanks

Reminds me of that jackass movie when they rented the car, totaled it, then brought it back. You don't think they would notice if I rented a camaro, then pulled the headers off before I returned it?

ok, question time... I've got the engine installed, adapter on, transfer case on, transfer/adapter mounts connected to frame, but when I went to reattach the drive shafts, they won't fit... I'm a bit perplexed. The front one is now a bit to long, and the rear is to short, even when pushing/pulling driveshafts. transfer case mounting brackets are slid all the way back, so its not that the whole drive train is to far forward. I used nicks jig when having everything welded together and everything seemed to line right up... except for this. um, help? lol

rear of the car is currently on jack stands, and i didn't mess with the front except for taking out, and reinstalling my steering box.

Thanks!

lol... no! thats what i mean! I left the front one connected to the front diff, and the rear one connected to the rear diff. went to attach the front and it is to long. Even all the way pushed in, it won't clear the bolts. I'll post up some pics shortly.

Here are a few pics. Used correct mount brackets as per bom. Did have to cut right side (us Defender/d1) to fit however.

sorry for the orientation
1. upside down pic of left side (drivers US, i.e. Right side of pic is towards rear of car.)
2. upside down pic of right side (passenger US IE left side of pic is towards rear of car)
3. Front shaft all the way pushed in, no way it will clear bolts. (it did come out this way though...)
4. Rear shaft. I just pulled the shaft out, didn't really tug on it, but it looks a long way off... unless it will extend farther.
