Anyone have the jig they can ship me on my dime for the weld in motor mounts? Or measurements would work also. Thanks!

Nick,

I shot ya a couple PMs when you get time. Just looking for more data on sourcing/pricing new Gen V drivetrain components. Also, wondering if your adapter will fit the new 8L90E boxes? Thanks!

Just a quick follow up on the fuel lines, one of the guys on another forum pointed out (after I posted this pic) that you can flip the fuel rails by trimming the plastic tabs off the plenum to get the connections pointing backwards again on the drivers side.
Would save a few $ on the 180 degree fittings....

Wilson FAST LSX 92mm Intake Manifold?

Re-use the truck LH6 intake manifold for Defender LS conversion, use a low profile intake manifold, or this Wilson FAST LSX 92mm Intake Manifold? FAST LSX 92mm.

Holy crap! would need to be very convinced about the performance / looks to spend that over using the stock car manifold! I thought I was being extravagant purchasing the ceramic coated Hooker manifolds. I was building my own but as Summit had 60 odd bucks off I took the plunge. I don't know what the actual benefits of having the ceramic coating will be but I figure with the air intake sitting at the back of the engine bay if it does save a few degrees of engine bay temperature then it has to be a good thing... ooh top tip for the bonnet, if like me you had to remove the bottom mount for the crappy stay that LR provided, P38 bonnet struts fit perfectly. Simply rob the bonnet struts, the bolt on brackets and grab two spare balls off the top tailgate. To fit, set the balls as far back as you can on the wing before the angle changes. I used a right angle drill and short drill bit for this. Set your opening height (don't go to far as the hinges will open) and rivet the brackets to the bonnet lip (the brackets need slight trimming and new holes drilling). Only took about 30 mins with the correct tools and works perfectly

fuel tank question:

if i used a plastic TD5 tank instead of the steel earlier one, would the fuel pump etc. listed in Nick's BoM still work?

I might be getting a galv chassis made especially for the conversion, so have a choice for tank mountings...

Turn Key Engine Supply

Spent the day at Turn Key Engine Supply working through custom configurations and tunes for the L94 and LC9 engines and testing my new harness.

This new 6.2L/6L80e is going to a lucky D90 owner.

All engines are test run before shipping.

Any news on the harnesses Nick? I emailed you a few days back but can see you've been busy (I'm also in need of a couple of other thing from you).

I have built only two custom harnesses so far. Based on the GenIV w/VVT & DoD for the '93/'94 NAS Defender. Plug-n-Play. With the '93/'94,'95,'97 NAS Defenders, '94-'95,'96-'99 Discovery I, '87-'94, '95 RangeRoverClassic, that makes 7 variants alone. Not to mention engine variations, with and without DoD. Plus an ROW version. Way too laborious.

Just invested in Harness CAD software to cad all the appropriate variations and send it off to a harness manufacturer. If you are in a hurry, I suggest you have SpearTech mod your factory harness or get a generic one from them. This "stuff" takes a lot time.

Regarding the pedal bracket. I am placing an order Monday to have them manufactured. Should be able to ship them in three weeks.

Haha - love it! Any link to the build?

Very surprised you don't see a lot of LS swaps into Disco2's. The D2 we had years ago was a great vehicle save for being underpowered.

Any one in NJ that has an LS swap Defender? Will buy lunch for a ride. Not giving my OM617 up anytime soon but very curious how it drives.

prices?

Nick,
Could you please send me a PM or a link to price list?

Also, could this kit work with one of the 4 speed transmissions? It would make my motor shopping a lot simpler if Gen III motors were an option, but using the 6L80 makes that a lot harder.

EDIT: ebay selection is subpar, I guess there are plenty of trannys out there.

This configuration does NOT support any 4-speed automatic transmissions. 6L80e only and that requires the Gen IV engine.

Mark's 4wd Adapters has a 4L80e adapter. Be prepared to relocate the LT230 with their configuration.
