"22D 1.410 Defender 4 Cyl bar 2.5 Diesel Nat Asp.", per some random googled website.

So this 22D 1.410 ratio LT230 is good-to-go for Nick's Gen IV LS swap?

Thanks.
Your 22D will work, however I think a 1.22 would be a better ratio for the 6 speed at freeway speeds.

Nick, have you finished the 110 engine harness you were working on? I would be interested in buying one for my 110 lc9 swap.

Hey Guys,

I currently have the 1.4 LT230, should I have this changed to a 1 or 1.2 for my LS3/6L80E conversion?

Best Regards,
Chris

With this setup I have plenty of power. On the highway it was in 5th and 6th. 6th on the straights, 5th uphill, 4th to pass. And this is a 5.3L not a 6.2L.
....
Most cases you will have to jump up a ratio in the LT230.
So would the optimal configuration for this engine upgrade be a 1.003:1 LT230 and those tires?

So if I have a 22D 1.410 ratio LT230, I should get this Ashcroft 1.003 Gear Set?
(Ashcroft Transmissions)
Aschroft says, "This ratio is usually only adviseable for those vehicles with Portal Axles or large diesel engines." Would that include LS Engines too?

Or would it be easier to just ditch the 22D 1.410 ratio LT230, and instead buy and install a Disco 1 V8 1.22:1 ratio LT230?

Here's my take on the LT230 ratio choice. In a 90, I think its undergeared when powered by a 3.9 using the 1.22 with the ZF box.

It could easily handle the 1.003 ratio, which LR used on the RRC when they added the Chrysler 727 auto transmission.

hi guys,

new member here, seeking advice on achieving this look and ride height on a tight budget, i want cheaper alternatives to the cooper ltz as they are too expensive, also wouldnt mind using 20" wheels with bigger tires as long as i get the same ride height. what spacers should i use, grill, i know those are terrefirma wide arch fenders.

also any body willing to do a custom interior alcantara and leather should pm me, if you can do this for a decent rate

Will a 2013 6L80 work with the 2010 5.3 I have? I am having a hard time finding a trans at a decent price.

Thanks.

The LQ9 is a Gen3 and won't work with the 6l80e.

What are you getting quoted? plenty of 2010 6l80s in the $1200-1500 range on Car-part.com

That range would work for me. I called several places around Phoenix and most have a core charge of $200-$350. Cheapest so far was $1750 and highest around $2300. I found a good deal on an 2007 but that won't work with my 2010 ECU. Also found a good deal on a 2013 but I am not sure if that will work with the 2010 ECU.

happy Christmas everyone! the wife and kids are watching crappy movies, so I'm taking the opportunity to obsess over engine swap problems...

has anyone done a RHD defender with a truck engine yet? only looking at the front of my l92 the alternator is at the same height as the top of the intake - so although Nick's BOM states the accessory relocation bracket is only needed for LHD, I'm not so sure (it cant clear the hood if the TB wont without being reversed).

I've got an ls3 intake manifold to go on, but if I can get away without reversing it and moving the alternator that would suit me much better.... at the moment, I'm thinking of just relocating the idler pulley ($28 part from Dirty Dingo: DD-LS-IRB - Idler Bracket Install LS Conversion LS Swap - DD-LS-IRB - Idler Bracket Install LS Conversion LS Swap) and maybe getting one of these hoods:http://http://www.grpmylandy.com/products/custom-bonnets/landrover-trailer-style-bulge-bonnet.html- I've emailed the company that makes them to ask how far from the front the bulge starts, but if it works then it's save me a fair ammount over moving all accessories and intake around.

It looks like my accessory drive locates the alternator about 3/4" lower.
