I came across your big conversion thread while looking for options on my 1997 manual 3.9 V8.

I live in Dubai but we have most of the GM engines over here and there are two good workshops I know of that could do the work.

So, what can you do for me?

Ideally I would like the easiest/cheapest option as i'm not too worried about massive power, anything around 200hp would be amazing, but I definitely need A/C!

I'd suggets you go back to the first post & read the complete thread, work out what you want & go from there.

I have read through most of it but there isn't a price list for the engine/gearbox mounts...etc?

The car engines are not listed because the truck (Vortec) engine fits. You have to change several parts on the car engine to make it fit. Oil pan, intake manifold, fuel rail, injectors, crank pulley.

Also, the car transmission (6L80e) has to be converted. Sump and filter changed to deep truck style. Output shaft is wrong. Some output shafts can be cut off. Then the tail housing has to be converted to dry by installing the shaft seal and plugging the holes in the case.

Far easier to start with a 4wd truck engine/trans. I will send you pricing.

I have two customers installing LSA engines in Defenders (Supercharged 6.2L, 580HP). I supplied them with 300M adapter shafts. The LT230 will probably hold up. The axles/diffs will have to upgraded. A standard 6.2L (408HP) should be fine with upgraded diffs and drive lines.

If your looking for low cost, find a wrecked Silverado with the LM7 iron block, or just pick one up from a local pick-a-part.... Stuff a cam in it and you'll have a solid 300bhp and plenty of torque to turn the stock half shafts into twisted ornaments

LM7 is a GenIII. Won't work with the 6L80e.

update

I received shipping notification for the adapters. Should be back in stock in a week.

Several have asked about harnesses. I am building a customer harness for the Defender. The first one is for the green 110 in my shop. The harness will be available to purchase shortly. I will send pictures in a few days. It will include the BCM, tap switch, cruise control, low range switch, tow mode switch, fan wiring, waterproof fuse/relay block (under hood).
