I already did that. I know how much to expect for the project cost. In my opinion it's totally worth it and I have spent easily that much on other conversions trying to make Land Rovers go fast. I'm just saying, that is a reason. Not everyone has the coin to do the swap when a RV8 can be done on the cheap. But just to be clear...I still want one!

Has anyone come up with an alternate to the Lokar pedal? At $350 for the modual and $92 for the peddle (Summit prices), it has become a rather expensive purchase!

I used the stock pedal and bolted the truck pedal that came with the motor to the outside of the bulkhead. Ran the throttle cable through the LS pedal arm so that the cable would depress the LS pedal when you stepped on the stock pedal. this was a rough mock up before i trimmed the cable and added washer etc. Ultimately i abandoned this set up and bit the bullet and bought the lokar. there was just not enough travel for me to feel safe. felt like almost instant WOT. Im sure there is a version of this that could work but didnt experiment further with it.

Couldn't find an ECU mount I liked so modelled this one up, it'll have a dual module MTA fuse box mounted onto the top back of it and be in 16g MS. Should work nice mounted to the bulkhead in the old heater location.

Thanks for the tip, Unfortunately I don't think it would get through engineering over here and I like control An old 101 I had, had a bad SU carb setup on it and it was a little tricky (WOT or Nothing). I see the Corvette pedal advertised but I don't particularly want to import one and find that it is as impossible to retro fit as the Holden Pedal I have!

Finished most of the rework on the 5.3 harness with a nice new fuse box. Just to add the dash gauge sensor wires & it'll be done ready for looming up.

Similar, Delphi Metri-Pack 150 series, same as GM use on the engine loom. I figured if they've been used for OEM & lasted this long they must be decent. No signs of corrosion in any of them.... I guess time will tell !

New wires are all TXL from there too. I'll be making a complete new vehicle loom next as the old one was in poor condition and there are quite a few new wires to be added for all the extras. That'll be in TXL as well but due to the limited number of colors available in 16g I'll be using these colored heat shrink idents at each end to mimic the OEM solid & trace.

I have them custom built with Spal fans. One for the Defender and one for the RRC/D1.
They come with 1-3/8" upper and 1-1/2" lower specifically for the LS conversion. 11" fans on the Defender radiator, 12" on the RRC/D1.

any pics of the shifter arrangement inside the cab? I'd be doing it on a manual, and those auto consoles are impossible to get hold of over here so was thinking along the limed of the lokar shifter that bolts onto the trans case.... if it left the lever in the right place of course.

think you'd get full articulation on the front axle without the prop fouling something? looks really close to both the trans and the y pipe in that pic.
