Glow plug wiring

Anyone know where the wiring to the glow plugs connects to?
The diagram shows a "ballast resistor". Is that just a wire? Where is it?
I see the wire from the starter switch disappear into a bundle, but not sure where it goes to connect with this ballast resistor. I have an orphan wire to the glow plugs. The wiring is most likely from the original NA diesel. It's possible they were never hooked up after the tdi conversion. Help, it's getting cold!

What year?
We have a glow plug controller manufactured for the Mercedes conversions that is adjustable from 1 - 120 seconds that works automatically when the key is switched on that will work on your 110, if you run out of options.

The ballast resistor drops the current for the early 90 & 110 and the series vehicles.
If you switch to the later glow plugs, you won't need it.

It's a 1984 Ninety with a disco 200 tdi. I took this opportunity to put new glow plugs in since the old we're falling apart. I traced the wire it behind the instrument cluster to find it going nowhere.
By newer glow plugs do you mean 200 tdi ones?
I might be interested in the relay/timer route. It might be the easiest if not the only way to go.
