GFT MT-82 Gearbox

Anybody know what the new Defender 6-speed will bolt up to? maybe like a 300tdi for instance.

Hey Gustav

Based on what I've learned, nope. Little chance of adapting it either. The duratorque transit van motor has a different bell housing bolt pattern than any Rover motor and the GT tranny has a non removable bell housing. Motor plate would be the only way. I think the Starter is on the wrong side and I know the exhaust is.

Bummer, oh well maybe the transit conversions will become reasonable in the next few years. when I was in England last I was overly impressed with the anti stall technology.

A lot more than that, I suspect....

I doubt it clears the old tranny tunnel and bulkhead.....which are completely different due to a completely different interior.
