Genuine fan clutch or aftermarket?

I am about to have my fan clutch replaced as my original is shot. Go genuine or aftermarket? The price difference is substantial, Genuine is close to $500, aftermarket around $100, but if this is one of those parts where you should go with genuine, please advise. Thanks in advance!

Yeah I've done that, just trying to determine if genuine or aftermarket.

I'm running the Hayden one that was like $60. Happy with it.

I would go genuine. Are you installing it yourself?

No not installing myself, shop is doing the work. Price gap seems ridiculous.

I tried a new Proline to identify if the viscous was the issue, and it was, and has been fine since install. No idea how long it will last, but so far, not a problem- and had plenty of money left over to have a NIB spare...

Why not have the shop get you one? If I'm not installing myself I rather the shop get it so there is a warranty.
