Since you are in England I assume you mean transmission when you say gearbox. If I am right, then no, the bolts don't quite line up. This is what George told me in order to get me to buy a new one so I might be wronge. No idea about ratios.

Made it further than half of the other guys, but the Hammers won.

Dude you need to get on the LRE forum. People there can answer your questions and direct you to parts in your area. While we would like to help you, you should make use of your local sources being in UK and all. Be sure to familarize yourself with the search feature here as well an ask more specific questions when possible.

Check ashcrofts site for answers to your gearbox questions.

Good Luck with your project

The LRE board is no longer active.

http://www.lrenthusiastforum.com/ubb...reads.php?Cat=

But you can also check here

http://www.landrovernet.com/forum

It's a pretty good UK forum, we are not sending you away, but the guys on these forums will know a bit more about the UK Rovers and where to get parts then we will.

Oh and Jim mentioned Ashcroft, they are a great company in the UK, check their site out

Gear ratios are here

There is a slight change in the gear ratios, mostly in fifth. It should be the same bolt pattern however. Rover used to sell 200TDIs as a replacement for the 2.5NA. The conversion kit did not require any changes to how the engine mounted to the transmission.

Click on theis link to download the conversion kit installation instructions.
