Gauge Disassembly or Glass Removal

I just bought a D90 temp gauge to replace the orig. 110 gauge when I remove the signal conditioner. Unfortunately, the gauge I received has some pitting and scratches in the plastic lens/face. Is it possible to swap the glass/plastic from my old gauge to my new one? How do you disassemble the gauge to do this?

Thanks!

Why dont you just try to polish the new guage with toothpaste? At least it will smell minty-fresh.

Well, I have used the Maguires stuff before and it works really well but this gauge has two nicks/gouges in the plastic. If it was just a light scratch or three I would polish.

I assume from the responses that there is no easy way to either swap the plastic or to swap the insides...?
