Gas cap from Hell

So, I ordered a new gas cap for my 110 and the cap is on and I cannot get the thing off. Cap is the old three notch style. The cap rotates freely but will not come off. I push cap down and I can feel some spring resistance but the damn thing will not come off. Any suggestions?

Oxy acetylene torch will get it off..... As you turn the cap you should feel the slots click into line if you pull it up at the same time.. Once they line up you may need to just supply a little more pressure..if it went on..it's gotta come off..if I recall there is a second position before it comes off...

Drill out those rivets!
Hopefully the top of the cap will come off easily.

Rovah Farm, Trevor is great to work with. I should have sent him a picture. I was able to get the cap off, wrong part.
