I was wondernig if anyone knew of a good source for galvanised capping for the rear tub of a D90?

I'm looking for all four pieces (LH & RH sides and rear).

Thanks,

I was hoping to get new stuff, if it's not to expensive... My 90 is my daily driver. I was thinking of getting all the galvanised capping ahead of time then taking a long weekend and doing the install.

OR

I guess I could rent a car and tear it appart.... That could get expensive though. As we all know how one thing leads to another.

Mike you can have the capping off in an afternoon and have it galved in a day and back on. ITs an easy job. Just have to drill out the rivets which is a PITA..

Brilliant!!!

Do I have to prep the stuff before I take it in (like sandblast)? Or do they handle all of that?

i think it may be cheaper to do the rent a car route.i think just the top cappings are $400 or $600 per rail -i think i got a price something like that-i know it was outraguos!!!!! im guessing you have a soft top- just do it in the summer when you can have the top off you can still drive with out the cappings. i think the galv place would take about 3-5 days?

Oh yeah, you have to strip any paint off it.. I always set my galv. up so I drop it off and they do it that day. IT takes a few hours. You might be able to set something up liek that if you beg like me..lol

I could maybe set up an exchange program with you. How soon do you want this done?

hey Jim,
That sounds great!! I was thinking in the next month or two. In my grand scheme of the D90... I'm pulling the NAS cage and going with an MOD hoop set. I have a new SD roll bar waiting for me in Chicago (I'm going to be picking it up sometime this month). The capping that I have is in great shape, but it's a 94 so I like to think of it as preventative maintanence. AND I like the look of the galv capping.

Would that fit into your schedule?

Thanks,

That could work. I have a set of cappings from a 97' that I could get done with some other stuff. I'll trade you for the left over cappings and leftover roll bar assemblies.
