Fuses Keep Blowing

I purchased a cheap auxillary heater from AutoZone the other day to get a little extra in my truck. The heater worked great for about 10 seconds before it blew the fuse. I have tried using a 7.5 instead of the 10 and it still keeps blowing on me.

Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated...

Thanks,
Brian

Return it and get another? It sounds defective to me.

They draw around 15 amps or so. I tried one, eventually a 15 amp fuse lasted for a while, but the heat output sucked.

Return it, and pull the vent covers off of the output vents in your heater for a big jump in heat.

These heaters simply can't work well. Even at 10 amps, which is alot to pull from a lighter plug, they still only produce 120 watts - about the same as a light bulb.

Heat solution #1 - drop curtain (assuming you have a full st or hardtop).
