Fuse Panel Upgrade

Hi all.

I've bought the AMR3138 bracket and the appropriate fuse block/connectors to upgrade my ex-MoD glass fuses to blade style fuses.

I still need to pick up the correct blade fuses for the job. A couple of questions:

1) MoD increased the amperage over what is shown on the original diagram in a few circuits (see pic). Should I stick with the higher amps with the blade fuses or go back to the original amp level?

2) It doesn't look like blade fuses are widely available in 8A or 12A. Is there a general consensus on whether it is better to go up or down to the next available fuse size?

Thanks,
Greg

I'd think you would want to go with the lower amperage fuses to protect the circuit. If a certain fuse pops a couple times due to load, then go up a few amps.

Glass fuses and blade fuses are rated differently. One is the rating at which it will blow and the other is the rating of the load it's intended to carry or something like that.

Thanks guys. I will take the blade fuses down to the next available increment and see how it goes. Still haven't tackled the job, the wire "spaghetti" looks a bit daunting to be honest.

I'm in the same boat. I'm worried about how long it will take and at least I can drive it right now.

Yours looks like this too? I'm wondering what the disconnected "Rists" connector with the red wires is...anyone?

There is also another rating which is how fast it would blow (to handle "normal" and temporary surges). No idea is this is a glass-only thing.
