Fuel tank swap questions...

All:

The fuel tank on my RHD '85 Ninety V8 is leaking. I presume the correct replacement is PLI-135? My fuel filler is on the right (drivers side, on a RHD) with the filler in front of the rear wheel?

Anything else I should replace while I'm in there?

I plan on painting the tank with rubberized stuff before installation.

Thanks in advance.

Paul.

That does not sound like a Land Rover part number.

Be aware the factory installs them with the seat box out. With it in, you can do it but it is tight and a fun job.

It's a Rovers North part number.

I'm prepared for the swap to be a PITA, just like every other job on this thing!

Well, that sucked. Out rigger rotten, new tank bigger than the old one & thus a PITA to install, was sent the wrong size bolts & to top it off, fuel guage doesn't work now. Boo!

Fuel gauges are supposed to work?

Mine goes between reading low to reading high depending on the time of year or some other mystifying criteria. I use the trip odometer as my fuel gauge.
