Fuel tank pressure with a 200tdi

I have the filler neck pictured below and the gas cap also pictured. When I started my truck I had a hissing coming from the fuel filler cap, it also started to leak from the mystery spot, that it has been leaking from for a while. As soon as I loosened the cap it stopped, the hissing and the leaking. I'm assuming that I have the wrong cap on the filler because it doesn't relieve any of the pressure.
Am I right in thinking that an NAS fuel cap won't work with a diesel?
Thanks

Diesel or gas both systems have a low pressure flow back to the tank- nothing that should pressurize it. When you take the cap off is there pressure escaping or suction ?

Either way- try a new cap.
