Fuel Heater on 110

Has anyone seen a fuel heater like this.
Two pipes from the heater hoses and one from the fuel tank to the fuel pump

That is a Flat Plate Heat Exchanger (FPHE) that is not native to a Land Rover.
You don't supply any info about your vehicle, but if I had to guess would say it was used to heat bio-diesel or WVO.

88 110 with a 2.5td I remember in the UK there were a few Rovers set up to run cooking oil with a tank heater.
Bio diesel ran fine without heating.

No idea why it was fitted the Rover came from Bari in the south of Italy. It is on an 88 with a 2.5 td.
It looks like it has been on there for a good while.
