Fuel Gauge

I have a 97 Defender Soft top, and I have a gage that bounces around like crazy when I am driving. So when I get in the red I get nervous because I never know what the true reading is. Do I need a new Gauge?

More probable that the sender is worn out than a problem with the gauge.

On my truck it was the sender. Easy to replace.

Now the gauge works fine only the truck bounces
