Cool Front Seat Swaps in Defender?

Looking for success stories of installing seats from other vehicles into a Defender.

I installed Audi A4 leather seats into a 2000 90 Td5 (see picture)
Some minor drilling and they fit great. Also there is a lever that lifts the seat to gain box access!
They sat high, and without a bulkhead removal bar, a bit cramped.

I've heard RRC, and Disco II's are decent.
Anyone had success with a low riding, easy install swap?

Brandon put e46 M3 seats in his 90 pickup, the bolsters are kinda high, but fine for 5'10" and shorter. You can pull a battery out without removing the seat and he's got a 1200CCA battery. He is contemplating selling them too.

How tall are you?

Let's see the lever action...

do you have any photos of this? I put Freelander seats in my truck and had to make them pivot to get to seat box storage. It works but would love to see other solutions.

I would love to see more of both of these mods... Specifics and photos on the mounting would be great!

I am 6'. I am curious to find out about the E46 M6 seats, More pictures?. I had a 2006 M3 and loved the seats.
I am sure you will need a 110 or a 90 with a bulkhead removal bar (seat back looks thick)
Seats Like this?:
BMW E46 M3 Coupe Front Seats Black Leather Power Sport

I sold that defender so I can't show you the lever action on the A4 audi seats. But, You slide the seat forward, then (in my earlier picture that large side lever you see) pivot cranks the lower back base of the seat sky high, and you can remove the battery. Drilling was simple, used the outer two holes, and drilled two new inner ones. Used the Audi seat rails (drilling one new hole), no mods but drilling and new stainless bolts & nuts.

If you don't mind sitting high, they were very nice and a good solution to reaching the battery.

Was trying to find that so thank you.

I have also seen Saab seats. So I suspect many will fit but be careful to ensure you'll fit as well.

I have fitted P38 Range Rover seats into my 90. They fit very well but I am only about 5,8 tall you may not fit if you are very tall.

Cheers Rob

I used Smartcar seats. Base is nice and low but not removable. They are hideous but actually very comfortable. I like those mini seats though.
