Front Seat Reclining Gear/ Ratchet

It appears that my passenger seat reclining gear/ ratchet thing has become worn down and unable to effectively hold the seat in position.

Unfortunately the half that is attached to the seat is the worn down side (red circle).

I believe that the subframe side (green circle) is still properly grooved.

Is there a way to fix this without buying a new seat?

From the pics the teeth don't look so bad. Are you sure you pressed the seat adjusting lever all the way down until it locks? You might have to hold the seat back and rock it until the lever locks.

I didnt think the teeth looked that bad either. It will hold if i put all my body weight on the lever, but will still often slip over time.

I think im going to take my driver side apart to compare.

Maybe just get the upper seat assembly? Great time to replace foam or fabric if you've been wanting to

Also, make sure the seat bracket assembly itself (the long bars on the base) is not loose or broken. If it is, this could be introducing some play in the latch, especially when weight is put on it
