Freestyle Wheel Refinishing?

My spare has a pretty decent area where I assume something, maybe a tire cover, was rubbing on it for a long time and took the finish off. Where or what kind of place refinishes wheels? Can a body shop do it? I saw the "refurbished" wheels on the net, but I wonder if it came from a wreck or not.

Any ideas guys?

Thanks,
Pete

These wheels are so cheap it might be easier to just find a replacement than to bother recoating it. Wait until they are all ruined and recoat.

Powder-coating only costs about $65 per wheel at least in these parts. Then they'll look like new and you could change the color if you liked.

Yea I had no idea what or how much it would be to do it. I plan on getting some 255/85 tires soon and want to actually rotate through the 5. But I don't want a wonky wheel in the mix. Maybe if I did the rashing, but I didn't so I can't wear it with pride.

Thanks guys!

Barry is right on these things being cheap. I just got a set of 5 black semi-gloss powder coated for about $65 a wheel. There are companies that do the mobile wheel repair, which we had done on the Volvo S60R but the charge about $100 a wheel. I will shoot you a PM regarding where my really nice set of 5 wheels is up for sale and the new owner is willing to break up the set.

You can also check with your local LR dealership...I know mine has a guy there a couple times a week to buff out/refinish wheels. It was actually an option when I bought my LR3 to buy a "warranty" package where whenever I brought the truck in for service they would polish the wheels up like new
