free shipping from the UK

I'm relocating back to the US in the coming months. Work brought me out here, and will be paying to ship me back to the Northeast. (40 foot container). Figure half of the container is filled with my household goods, so thre is plenty of free space.

I'm bringing back a few spares for myself (300 tdi driveline) , but am also willing to haul anything anyone else wants. Items must be reasonable in size, and your welcome to ship them to my UK address. Once back to the US you can either pick them up or I'll ship them for cost.

How about a good non-airbag LHD Disco Dashboard. (if one can be found)

I'm currently in Gloucestershire (GL6) here in the UK.

I'll be returning to the Northeast, either Connectict or Massachusetts.

If you source parts here and the UK, you can simply have them shipped to my home address. Once back in the US your welcome to pick them up in person of I'll ship them for cost. Even better if you have a UPS/fedex account and I can use that for US shipping.

Worth mentioning: the sea trip to the US can be 2-4 weeks, so if you need it fast this is not a good option for you.

Very generous indeed. This may be the incentive I need to buy the side lockers for my trailer project and save $300 plus in shipping.

What's the rough timeframe for leaving?

thanks,
charles

Generous indeed!! Is a Tdi motor doable? And what is the time frame to have it delivered in the UK to 'make the boat'?

Id like to ship you a couple steering guards and a few other small items. Does that work for you?
How long do you think it will be 1 month, 2 months?
let me know!

Shipping

Hi Vin, When you get back to the states, I'm next door in NH. What are the chances of getting Defender Front Seats in your box? I can meet you for pick up here on the other side of the pond. I'd rather buy there than pay the 66% mark-up here.

All,

Please thank my company, as they are the folks paying to ship "my" stuff back <GRIN>

Larger items that weigh alot are a problem, as I need to haul them through my first floor and into the garden shed until the movers arrive. Needless to say, another 300tdi, trans or Tcase is not in the cards. Sorry for that....

Smaller items, or those that are kinda bulky should not be a problem.

As to time frame, I'm trying to sort that myself. I'm in a small house here, so storing your stuff for a while is certainly a problem. At the same time, I don't want everyone hanging on indefinitely waiting for me (and my container) to finally arrive in the US.

I should have a better idea on timing in a week or two, but it looks like it will not be before Jan 1.

It also looks like I'm going to Boston, so anyone interested in picking things up will need to head there.

Vin

Boston Bound

Hi Vin,

Boston is 40 minutes for me so this would work out very well if it all makes sense for you. If front seats are doable for you, my guess is the best thing for me to do is set up shipping to your UK address through Trakkers. I assume the container will be packed at your place

Jan 1st is a few weeks away and logistics often times take weeks to set up for things to go smoothly. I wouldnt mind beginning th eprocess of working with you on this now, again, if this is workable for you. Seems I'll need your address and contact info. and then I can contact Trakkers.

As far as delivery across the pond goes, my restoration wont begin until March/April 2010 timeframe. If the container is here by then, it works for me. I'll look forward to your reply.

Hello Vin Are you on your way from the UK?

Hello Vin,

Hoping you havnt made the trip across the pond yet. Are you still open to have goods shipped from your UK address?

Did anyone ever hear back from Vin or is this one of those Russian bride deals?
