Footwell Question

I am curious if anyone knows of decent replacement material for the nasty and falling apart cardboard that serves as the baffle material in the footwells. I have looked at the various part sites and it is unclear at best if there is a replacement. I am close to just taking the crap out and living without it but would prefer to replace if possible. Thanks for any thoughts.

Another guy had been offering them, but now out of business. I'm terrible remembering names, so can't recall who it was.

Just take them out and if you feel you need the noise reduction, get some dynamat extreme. My ST still has them and my SW does not. I do not know if there is any noticeable difference.

I think it was Dave Lucas with Slick Rock Fab that made a steel version.

I still need these too. I'm afraid someone is going to catch the wiring on the passenger side on a their shoe and rip it out.

I'm going to start making these guys, I will start on my 94 with no AC and use my old ones for a template, my compressor is down right now so I cant run the plasma cutter at this time, but I might just run over to my brother inlaws shop with the plasma & cut out a pair. I dont have any other templates for units with AC & so forth though. It is a holiday week & family members are visiting so I dont really know how much time I will have.
I will powder coat the units afterwards in-house so you will get a complete ready to bolt in unit.

Nice I could use the driver's side and if someone comes up with an A/C template, one for the passenger side. Drop a note when you have some to sell.

I'm in. NAS D110 w/ manual. Driver's side should be the same. I may have the original paper one for the passenger side.

I have a set from Len at american dirt roads and they are great. I think no matter who makes them anything is better than the crap cardboard. My 90 has stainless steel and my 110 has aluminum

It will be very reasonable, but I cant put any numbers together without a material list & time to build.
It will be powder coated with Dynamat sound proofing on the back.. I will post back on this thread with pictures to show, so far I'm keeping track of everyone interested & specs.

Barry, what is the thickness of each type you have?

Tom

I took mine off the truck a coupe years ago. Can not say that I miss it. Matter of fact I think it looks pretty cool without it. Can't see why this part is needed.

Tom,

I started to make a pattern for the footwells but I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to fine tune it and fabricate it. I can send you a copy of my pattern if you like (see image). I might even end up buying one of yours if I don't get to finish mine. Let me know, I'm happy to share.
