flickering lights

hey fellas...here's one for ya...
i recently replaced the alternator. since then my lights flicker or pulsate (?). all the lights - headlights, brakelights and even the interior dash lights. ive checked the connections on the alternator and everything seems ok. am i missing something? or did i get a defective alternator?
any guesses?

Bad voltage regulator in the alternator...... my guess
