Fitting Vented Rotors

I am sorry if this has been addressed before, my searches turned up related details but nothing very straight forward on what is involved to go from solid to vented rotors on a non-NAS 110? Is is just a matter of swapping them in? (that would probably explain the lack of details).

I don't know all that is involved, but you will need either different calipers, or to 'rebuild' your current calipers with spacers, since the venter rotor is thicker than the solid one, the caliper from a solid rotor brake system will not fit around the venter rotor without modification. If the Rotor diameter is the same, I would imagine this would be your only real obstacle..

I'm not familiar with the non-NAS 110 brakes, but if they are the same as NAS, I believe all you need is what Scott said. The pads and rotors for a D90 and either the calipers off the 90 or the spacers for your calipers. George at RDS carries the spacers and longer bolts to reuse your calipers.

I talked to George about these just before Christmas, and he said he no longer carried them. I thought someone else was doing this as well. Maybe check with Keith at Rovertracks or Bill at GBR.

Hmm, I thought he said he could still get them though. Anyway, I talked to him around the same time (probably because we read the same thread) and he said he did have core D90 calipers available. He said they were complete calipers, but need a rebuild kit fitted to them. Could always go that way if you can't find a used set on one of the forums.
