Fast back top water control - ideas?

The fast back top has a steep angle over the rear tub area. On the left and right of the rear window, the zippers end at the bottom leaving a 1/4 inch gap. Gosh, would you believe that water, following the laws of gravity, runs down the angle, through the 1/4 inch gap and goes into the truck. Go figure! This would be OK if the tub itself was water proof - indoor pool/hot tub - but alas it too leaks. Bummer.

Anyone out there come up with a snazzy solution on managing the wate flow? I'm thinking of making 2 beer bongs, using them a few times to steady my nerves, then installing them inside the top under the gaps with the hose leading towards/out the tail gate.

Ideas I have already thrown out
1. Sell the top and replace - sorry guys
2. cover/close the gap -
a) failed repeatedly at this
b) fast back window bottom is lower that the tub sides so water would pools there anyway
3. Sell the D90 (HA!)
4. The Zen approach - bugger it (did not work)

I would have to actually see the top in use (I've never seen a fastback installed in person) but I would imagine if you took it to a custom canopy/top/sail maker that they could come up with something easy and relatively inexpensive to modify this. I would find a local place that does this kind of work and let them take a look at it and see what they say...after all, they do this for a living.

fixed!

Hey Paul, I removed the back window. It reduced the amount of leakage by nearly 50% (HAHAHA).
Duct tape worked for a while...... I love my fastback and would love to find a cure.

You and I need to find some photos of badgerman in a compromising situation and blackmail him into making us a couple fastback tops!
