Fan cowl

Hi guys. I can't seem to find an upper fan cowl for a 97 4.0 v8 d90. I ordered one that I thought was for the truck but when it came it was for a disco. Does anyone know where I can find one? Is there a way to make the disco one fit?

If you're talking about the upper removable fan shroud peace with the clasps on it, then it's the same as a disco with the GEMS engine. Pics would help

Yep those are NLA. For the GEMS motor with serpentine belt the Disco shroud needs to be used. It needs to be modified just a little however.

If I recall correctly the top piece fit with out modification but the main piece had to have mounting brackets made at the top, holes enlarged for the 2 hoses and slits made for the bottom brackets to take hold.

I did one for my self about six years ago, and I remember having to cut out a small notch in the Disco part number shown. It has been a long time, though.

So it looks like ESR2847 and ESR3226 for the lower cowl and the removable upper piece.

If it has to be cut anyway, does it matter if use an old RRC one piece cowl?
Because I have several of those lying around...
Or...how does one mod a pre-Gems D90 cowl to fit the GEMS 90?

I dont have the rad or the hoses in so I cant picture where it lines up with the fan...

Jeff: When LR went serpentine the alternator moved over towards the left fender. Pre serp shrouds won't work.
