Fabricators/ Machinist Question

I'm not a bad Googler but I'm not having any luck finding something like this in steel, I would need about 20 feet:

What's the application? Could you use angle iron and weld the middle 1/8" piece in place?

It has to support a piece of machined HDPE plastic sheet.

I'm sure someone could weld it up but I was hoping for something that would be off the shelf to keep cost down.

I would seriously doubt you would find a complex section like that in steel. It required hot forming which is very complex and expensive. Aluminum, you should be able to find something close.

Some things are working against you:

1. Strict dimensional requirements
2. Unusual shape
3. Very small quantity (a single stick of cold roll comes from mills in 24' lengths. You need 4' less than even a single mill stick.)

IMHO, unless you need the shape fully welded, having two angles welded together seems like the cheapest option.

For the cost of any custom fabrication option, it's actually cheaper for you to buy a nice welder and DIY.

I don't need it fully welded, just making sure I wasn't missing some special F shaped stock that was out there in some specialized field that I wasn't able to find on the net. Two pieces of angle spot welded every couple of inches will work.
