Extra sh!t in the kit

Unsolved mystery:
I have a couple of head gasket kits laying around. There are always parts, o-rings, and gaskets left over when I have finished the job (diz o ring, plenum water jacket gasket, and dumb stuff like that). The ones that puzzle me the most are the 8 rubber rings. They look, for lack of a better description, like slices of hose, but I know they aren't. They're like 3/16ths square but like o-rings about an inch or so round. Anyone know what they are? I haven't ever pulled anything out of a V8 that looks like them, so I have never installed them, if one is supposed to.

If i remember right the hose looking ones are for fuel lines, the push togather type.

Most of these kits are a general fit for many years of motors and theres left overs depending on your year.

Cheers Ed

Yeah, but I don't know of any V8 of any year that uses such a thing. They don't look like fuel fittings, and there's 8, like there's supposed to be one per cylinder. They don't seem to go to anything.

I don't know, but they include a bunch of other weird stuff too.

I have bags of it sitting at my house.

Those little ones are for your injectors. I put them on mine but the fit was slightly off so I didn't use them.

For injectors I use the Ford ones. The ones shown in the baggie are not even close.
I know that these kits are supposed to be for a lot of different vehicles, perhaps a Rover sedan uses them somewhere?
