experimenting 110 soft top on 110 tithonus

I just borrowed a friends soft top from a 110 to put on a 110 tithonus. Used a front hoop and galvanized side pieces from a 110 that go behind and above the door. I have to add the windshield piece for the soft top. So far the fit isn't too bad. Since I don't know how it is supposed to work , just mocking it up it looks like this is something that might be doable. The velcro panels that go around the hoops have to be altered to be bigger and in other places. The d-rings don't line up with the slots in the galvanized door top pieces. I still have to fab 2 hoops in the tithonus roll cage to see how that will affect fitment. The top I am trying is a pvc type top. It is not a tithonus pvc top. Anybody have any thoughts?

Thanks,
Bucl

The tithonus roll cage is several inches taller than a normal 110 set of hoops. IE the sides will be too short.

I have a soft top on mine, used the same hardware that you did but I cut and rewelded the cage all around by about two inches, now it fits perfectly.

What I have found out so far

I have found sources for "wolf" soft tops. The next question is what parts are needed to make a tith 110 hard top compatible for a soft top? What "sticks" and parts are needed? Are tith sticks and parts different then wolf sticks and parts? Are tith sticks and parts different then a normal defender 110? I currently have "normal" 110 defender sticks and parts up in the front of the tith roll cage. I do know we will have to make a small hole in the soft top for the forward roll cage that is from the windshield back to the tith roll cage.

Thanks,
Buck

The bows (2 needed) are different, and difficult to find, but Def NW sourced them previously.

the bows are different

You mean the 2 removable bows on the roll cage? I figure I can make those. I am talking about the stuff around the cab: The windshield track, above the door gutters, and the hoop behind the door. Are these different from a tith to a wolf or a normal?

I got a price for the top alone. About 602.00 pounds delivered from England. About 797.00 US. This includes shipping.

Buck,

Replied to your email - out of the shop mid-week on summer hours but should be back into regular cell/email service again the rest of today.

Will be at the shop for a while tomorrow if you need details.

Can somebody tell me and show me pics of the parts that are needed to fit the wolf soft top to the tith 110? I am talking about the stuff needed to fit over the doors and cab. The pictures I have seen are usually L-shaped metal around the back and top of the doors and the additional bows for the cage. How about the windshield and the tail gate? Are these pieces unique to the tith and/or wolf? is there a name for these fittings? Do you just call them soft top kit?

Thanks,
Buck

Tithonus soft top

The Tithonus takes Wolf components on the soft top to include the fixing bits, don't let anyone tell you different. I'm 100% correct on this fact.
With that said, members have and do modify the roll cages to except standard canvases and fixings. But to set it up with no cutting and such you're going to need the military components sourced.
I have attached two screen shots from the OFFICIAL BRITISH MILITARY MANUAL for all Defender Wolf variants. One shows a diagram of the door assembly and the other lists the parts by name and part number.
