EXMOOR- John Craddock Trim Shop

Has anyone purchased their EXMOOR Front Seat Re-trim Kit from these guys in the UK. It appears their prices are lower than Rover North. I am not sure about the shipping cost but I cannot see it costing $284 to ship to the US.

John Craddick Trim Shop $173.86 (exchange rate for today approx 144.68)

Rovers North $458.00

I've bought other stuff from Craddocks. If they have it in stock they are great to deal with.

I have purchased a bunch of stuff from them even a TDI motor that they shipped to me in the US. As far as Exmoor stuff I purchased my seats, cubby, soft top and hoop set from them but had the items shipped in the UK to where my 90 was stored.

The Exmoor seats and soft top had to be ordered so it took a few weeks for them to get the items but once they had them they shipped them quickly.

Just an FYI they are not the best at calling / emailing status so if you want an update you will have to call them but they are leaps and bounds above other UK vendors.

I actually found Craddock's very prompt with responses via email; however, their emails may go to your spam folder if you don't OK them. I had that problem, and after about a week of waiting for a reply I realized that they had tried contacting me a few times and all their emails were going directly in there. Once I corrected that, I payed the shipping charge and had the Swing-Away tire carrier at my house in about a week.

I've also bought some things from them without any issues, but only because I couldn't find it locally, ie US. As a philosophical point......I try to buy from US vendors when I can even if the price is a little higher only because I want to support them and keep them in business here (benefits me). But I also don't understand price differentials like those and would try calling RN first and pointing out the price difference and see if they'll come down a bit. $248 is a little ridiculous though even with foreign freight.

I find myself ordering more and more parts from the UK as US shops do not have the parts I need and if they do they are 2-4 times more expensive that getting it shipped from the UK

Randy - the G4 trim has been discontinued - but my front seats have a nice set of G4 trims on them. Since I can't get the matching material to redo the jump seat, I was considering replacing them.

Hi Chaps I have the Exmoor trim catalogue in front of me now and they list G4 seat cover kits for both the base and backrest, they also do a reat retrim kit which has the foam, covers and glue.
no prices sadly.!

Exmoor trim used to sell direct but now they only sell from dealers, with a corresponding rise in prices i was going to fit defender Elite seats to my 90 build but @600 I'm now going to fit Defender XS seats 440 for the pair

check the link for the exmoor trim PDF :http://www.bearmach.com/downloads.html

regards

Gren

I've got the G4 trimmed front seats and the exmoor forward facing fold up seats in the rear. I'll post pix tomorrow evening.

Maybe they just discontinued the outer fabric - in which case they just are using black vinyl now. I dunno.

how about foreign shipping??? any idea what it would cost to get a set of seats shipped over? their prices on alot of stuff is far less that the US vendors. I was looking at the mantec snorkel at the current conversion it would be about 340. Every time i see it over here its 450 or 499. I wonder if shipping would kill the deal?

i just checked with RN on some outlast seat recover kits - 398.00 and rear bench at 349 (NAS fabric only)

each are about 100 more than craddock (not minus VAT which we do not have to pay, nor with shipping). However the seats are way more here (Elite, or the load area), shipping on those would be spendy.

that looks like an awesome setup -
do you mind me asking if you sourced them from craddock how much was shipping to the states?
i may just go this route instead of recoving etc. (do the elites and the same forward facing load area seats.)

The previous owner bought them directly from Exmoor. He insisted the only way to buy parts was directly from Europe.
