Exmod reverse switch wires?

So I have a 86 exmod 90 and I'm looking for the wires that would connect to the reverse light switch on the tranny.

From what I've read they're just supposed to be tucked away somewhere.

Can anyone point me to where the wires might be tucked away, which side of the frame are they usually on or maybe some pictures?

When I removed the interior panel above the transfer case all I see are the wires going to the fuel tank.

Then if I look under the truck all the other wires seem to get tucked into the frame and I don't really know how to access them.

Thanks.
Johnny

On mine they were not there. I think I needed to run wires fe the switch from one of the main plugs on the bulkhead.

Correct, they do not come with a reverse switch or light. The wiring from the front to the back is there. But the lead from the switch to the main harness is missing.

Awesome thanks guys.

Alright so once I connect the wires to the reverse switch where would I connect the other end with the 2 bullet connectors? Would it be towards the rear right hand side?

PM me your email address and I'll send over the military wiring diagram.

Usually (well, on some versions...) the 2 pin plug is in the main loom, so reverse can easily be added.

some not though...

Wondering how you made out as I am attempting the same. I have the switch in the transmission and it works. Just can find the 2 wires that connect to it or understand how to wire them myself into main harness.

I ran new wires and used some protective sleeve. Very simple circuit to make.

There are no wires just sitting by the tranny, you have to run two wires from the main harness to the switch. I forgot if they were located inside near the fuse box. I don't have that car anymore to check.

Read this thread. And then look at the wiring schematic. I posted a link to the missing wiring if you want to buy it. It run from the switch to the harness connector on the bulkhead.
