They are a bit on the heavy side. A M416 is more suitable for the Defender.

I have the M416 and it tows great behind the Defender. THe M416 weighs about 600 pounds empty versus over 900lbs for the 3/4 ton version. I found mine on Craigs list, and Ebay has them all the time. When I was looking there were ones for $500 to $800 that looked a litte rough. I paid $1,100 for one that was in pretty good shape with only surface rust on the interior. The exterior had multiple coats of paint. The $1,100 also got me two extra wheels, two brand new tires, a new military wiring harness for the vewhicle end, new id plates, new reflectors, two new shocks in the box, new drain plugs in box, and a new cover.

I have a M101A1. It's on the heavy side, but I tow it behind all my trucks and I love the drop tailgate. I paid $300 for a rust-free one with new tires from Goverment Liquidation. I don't have any issues towing it behind my 110.
