Estimate of D-90 frame weight???

I am trying to work out shipping costs for a frame for our D-90. Anybody know about how much it weighs??
I just need a ballpark estimate.

Thanks!

I moved mine by myself onto some saw horses when painting it--I think it weights between 200-300 lbs

I think closer to 300. Each end is a two-person lift. It is a strain for one guy to lift one end if the other is supported.

but i might just be really weak...

I can pick up my bare 88" chassis by myself (barely) - I estimate it weighs around 250 lbs so the ninety frame probably weighs in right around 300 lbs. I've helped a friend of mine move a ninety frame around before and the two of us were able to pick it up and carry it without our knees buckling.

I moved mine with one arm, drinking a beer with the other, while my wife made me dinner naked.

I would say 400 is a good estimate by the time you put it in a crate or something similar

OK good, that's what I was thinking.

Thanks guys. Do you think $560 is a reasonable price to ship it from Maine to Utah?

Why not buy a frame in Utah. That should be more than the price of the frame.

Unfortunately it's not that easy. I haven't been able to find a frame here in Utah yet. It's pretty hard when I know virtually everybody in the whole area that has a d-90. There just aren't that many of them here.

If anybody knows of a frame here in Utah, I would be more than appreciative if you would tell me about it.

Have you tried calling Bill at GBR? I know I can get you one in Cali too if you can wait for a while. That way you could pick it up.

Yeah, I was actually over at GBR chatting with Bill yesterday. He doesn't do much with D-90 frames anymore. He barely does anything with any frames anymore unless they are for a project of his own. Apparently he used to have frames a lot because they used to be in a different shipping class that made them relatively cheap to ship. Now they are class 300 and cost quite a bit more to ship.

How much could you get a frame for? And how long would I have to wait? Cause Cali sure would be easier than Maine, lol. That would be great if you could get one.
