Engine Oil Filler Cap

Occasionally when I need to top off my engine oil, I can barely unscrew filler cap. It somehow gets so tight that more than once when I have unscrewed the cap, the oil filler neck/funnel comes unscrewed from the valve cover also! Has anyone else had this issue? The cap is plastic so I'm wondering if I just need to replace it and if I need to maybe apply some locktight or something to the filler neck so it doesn't come unscrewed from the valve cover.

I think everyone has had that issue. I don't know how others deal with it. I just find it to be a minor annoyance that I tolerate and move on.

there is an "o" ring the bottom of the filler tube matching the valve cover... replace that.
