Engine light on...but no code.

Recently I was descending a steep slope with large rocks (causing a lot of shaking and jostling) and the engine light came on. I immediately pulled over to check the code and there was none. Later, after filling up, it went off.

Now the engine light seems to come on and off at random intervals...sometimes when the truck is shaking (eg going over rough terrain).

Any ideas? No fault codes so I'm completely lost.

The ECU can throw codes that don't come up on the display. Sometimes these are just random errors ... I'd clean your connections, check your grounds and if that doesn't stop it try a rover gauge to read the code.
