emissions testing denver - oversized tyres

I'm being told that emissions testing in CO now requires vehicles to have stock size tires for testing. has anyone found a slution to this?

thanks,

Your Defender should be on their list of vehicles exempt from going on the dyno.

Get a diesel, they don't care about tire size.

One more car out the door and I will have no more spark plugs to worry about!

Got me by 1 min

Yes, it is true that they are unable to test the D90 on the dyno due to the AWD and the short wheel base so you have the idle test.

You will also notice that they say 34" is the max tire size that they can test on that same page.

I would print it out and take it with you

There's a first !

Max tire size on the rollers is 34" Unless you have a Diesel... Then they don't care.

true as true...

There does not currently exist in the state of Colorado a 4 wheel dyno that goes short enough to accomodate 92.7" wheelbase... count your lucky stars...

With the diesel they just look in the engine compartment and say "yea, I think everything is there"

good times were had by all...

Make sure you take the exemption list with you. I have had to argue with a few people to keep it off the rollers. The center on McIntyre has their stuff together however. Don't go to Broomfield.
