The farthest right symbol on the bottom row (the choke symbol) is used on diesels for the glow plug indicator.

What truck is this? 1990 110? Engine?

1990 reg but 89 year model....200 tdi engine though

Interesting that a diesel would have a choke symbol....possible this was cannibalized from another truck?

No, just Land Rover strangeness. They all were like this until the 300TDI came out.

As you have had an engine conversion, you will need to hunt down the wiring..... Good luck.... Nothing worse than PO hacked up wiring.

So then could it have something to do with the glow plugs then? I did just replace them today as 2 of them had shorted out

Really, you need to hunt through the wiring on your own. The TDI glow plug wiring is different than the pre-tdi wiring and there is no way to know what the person that changed the engine did....
