Electrical issue? Turn Signal / Brake pedal

Guys,

I am an original owner of my D90. It did something on me tonight that I have not seen (and I thought I had seen a lot) All was working when I drove the truck earlier today.......I am pretty sure.

With Head lights on: Hit the turn signal stalk when approaching a turn. The turn signal does not come on. Leave the stalk up or down - Tap the break pedal, the turn signals come on.

If you are coming to a turn AND braking, AND hit the turn signal stalk while already braking, the signals turn on like normal.

Is this an issue with the headlights (I will find out tomorrow if it happens with the lights off)? Or a problem or short with the brake lights? The Turn Signals?

Curious if this exact thing has happened to anyone else..........I could just slightly change the way I drive and tap the brake pedal every time I use the signal It would not be the first time the Defender has made me compromise something

The turn signal and the lights are on separate switches but they may share the same ground. You could pull the steering column plastic cover and look at things. Your turn signals go threw the Hazard switch before the stalk. You could check to make sure all the wires are connected to that. You will have a large plug with two separate wires, one on each side.

I had a similar issue. Turned out to be a fuse that was not properly seated in the fuse block. The mail part of the fuse was between the female contact and the plastic housing. Once I reinserted the fuse into connector it worked fine.
