EGT fitting

Getting to the point of fitting a VDO egt gauge, as I had a 200tdi and no egv blanking plate I have been searching for a fitting solution.

Found this clamp on the diyautotune.com web site.

Anybody used this or know of it? I want to get the probe upstream of the turbo for realistic readings, its either this clamp or drill and tap into the turbo casing. What have you done?

Just drill a hole in the mani and tap it NPT. You need to borrow a tap?

Theres your answer. Dont use that clamp. Do it right the first time. Taps are easy to find. I tapped into the exhaust manifold on my 3B.

Any ways that clamp will not work, its for a 3/16" tip and the VDO tip is 1/4" what type is the vdo sensor J or K

the vdo sender will come with a weld on bung. just pull the exhaust manifold, take it to a weld shop, have them drill and weld it on where you want it, and reinstall. all for the cost of a single gasket.

I wouldn't trust that hose clamp for any reason. it belongs in the Pep Boys isle with the license plate frame with skulls and the fuzzy dice.
