I don't want to steal Mike's thunder, but I'm very very pleased with the updates to the code. Just fixing the immobilizer would have been good, but Mike did his thing. And to boot, he didn't even charge me return shipping for participating in the testing and tuning. I owe Mike beers and chow whenever we cross paths.

Any update on these chips? Are they available? If so, where? Will they work with a stock 3.9?
Thanks!

Nice avatar Mark. I believe that is the exact view I had that day on Black Bear.

Mike,

You might talk to the folks at Active Autowerkes in Miami. http://www.activeautowerke.com
They've done some wild stuff with stock BMW computers with turbos and such. I bet they'd have someone that could pick the GEMS unit apart, for a price. If not, they might could point you in the right direction.

All the upgrades are done and I'm just waiting for Mark to get some things together in the UK so that he can be able to meet demand faster. Then I have to get time to write and post the article, but its all done and its all good. We solved 99.9% of the issues and made leaps forward in the big cam motors.

Mike, great. I'm very eager to get my hands on one (and haven't been able to get through to Mark via email).

When you say big cams, whats a big cam for a GEMS truck?

Still no luck reaching Mark, over the course of more than a YEAR. Has he actually sold any of these chips in the US? Does he have any desire to?

It's a strange and frustrating experience wanting to buy something from a seller disinterested in making the sale....

Especially since I went through the hassle of sending my ECU to ECR while Mark was there.

He replied to me within a day. For the most part on the CUX trucks tuning the MAF ditching the cats and finding the tune resistor are the cheapest things in terms of electronics? I was a little surprised at the cost of Marks chips, it would be nice to see some dyno pulls.

I put a Mark Adams chip after a 4.6 install and it seemed to help some. Engine seemed more "lively".

Did it just the other day. Actually, Dan (tigerDan) installed it for me. He reps Mark out here. A Tornado in the 4.6 really woke it up. It made the P38 seem far less underpowered! ;-) I'll definitely consider it for the '95 D90 Hotwire as full gains are supposedly felt immediately, while on the gems trucks it takes 300 miles or so. However, I was surprised by the noticeable difference and even more surprised that my wife could tell as well.

Chipped the Disco 1 when it was still gas powered. I didn't notice any difference.
The biggest noticeable improvement came from porting and polishing the heads.
The next time I have the heads off the RR 4.6, I'm sending the heads and intake to have them extrude honed.

Hi all.

Where do I source one of these new chips? I'm having issues with my 4.6 install and have read all of these threads and I think my issue is the same as everyone else's.
