Door won't open from inside

Just a few weeks ago my left hand front door stopped opening from the inside. On any other door there are two 'clicks' of the latch as you pull back the handle. On the passenger side it only reaches the first 'click'. I pulled off the door card and the cam that presses open the door latch actuator just isn't pushing down far enough. I can push down the actuator with the end of a socket and it opens the latch all the way. I looked for a way to shorten the rod that connects to the cam but I couldn't see any adjustment point.

ANyone dealt with this issue before? Any advice? Thanks.

Is the plastic piece still on the "catch". If it is not the diameter of the catch is reduced and sometimes will not engage the second click...

No plastic anywhere - all metal to metal contact.

Check the other good doors. There should be a piece of plastic on the catch assembly. If you are missing that it could be your issue.

Push button or lift up?

Sorry. I don't have experience with those. On push button if you don't have the plastic "shim" you will have the symptoms. The plastic adds about a 1/16" which when removed will cause similar issues.

I had the same problem on my 110 both doors quit opening from the inside. I found a slight adjustment of the linkage from the handle to the latch got it working again.

What linkage specifically? The long linkage between the handle and latch?

That was the one, I put a "slight bend" in the rod and that shortened it just enough.
