Door Latch Removal

The door latch on my 95 SW will not stay latched any longer. It looks like the window track needs to be removed to take the door latch off. To do this the window needs to be removed. Well, i have not had any luck removing the window or the window tracks. Has anyone out there done this that can help?

Thanks

Before you go through all that trouble try spraying WD-40 or PB Blaster into the latch mechanism from the outside and inside if you have the inner door panel off. After that work the outside and inner handle to see if it loosens and works. Because all the elements of the mechanism are exposed to dirt and corrosion it may be stuck in the open position.I just dismantled a door that was stuck closed because of this. I thought it was broke, but that's all I had to do.

Thanks for the advice Corey. When the door is open I can push the latch to the latched position with a scew driver, but then I can easily unlatch is also with the screw driver. I'm thinking a pin or lever may have broken inside.

Actually I'm having trouble removing the latch mechanism that connects to the striker located on the door jam. The latch is inside the door and held in place with 3 screws. I removed the screws but can't snake the latch out.

When my door is closed the latch is no longer holding the door in place, you can just pull the door open.

I got it, and only bent one small part while doing it. Thanks for the help again guys.
