Door Hinges for Easy Removal

I know I shouldn't word it like this...

But has anyone been able to create or find door hinges to replace the ones on D90 ST to make the door easy to remove? slide in the hinge and off? Similar to our friends with wranglers?

Thanks

Jij

Morning all

So I took the doors off. Tried to take the hinge apart but no luck
Any ideas on how to separate them?

Need to remove it from the bulkhead first to press the pin out.

First you'll need to take off the flat brim Fox hat and white oakleys, then put down the Monster energy drink that I know you're holding. Then hammer that pin out with a small punch from the smaller end.

I tried hammering it out with a torx driver and rubber hammer

So from bottom... Just go harder? (This just took a turn XxX)

You just really don't have the room with the body shape. Russell is right, you'll probably need to remove the hinge first, then separate.

Woah, way wrong tools dude brah.

Get a real solid hammer, like a good ball peen, and a punch set made from tool steel.

That poor poor torx driver.

Use an electric powered tool. Its only 4 bolts per door. Doesn't get TOO much easier than that. Then you can bungie the hinges and keep your mirrors. All nice and legal. Well.. in the few states that truly allow doorless cars.
But really. What are you gaining. I mean, I have the MOD windows. Yea, they suck, I take them off in the summer and leave the door lowers. but roll downs? you're so close to the outside of the vehicle on these, you can see what you need to on the trail easily. The army takes them off for easy escape.
Wrangler doors are much more intrusive, and heavy. They have a higher belt line, making it quite a stretch to see your front wheels, and are designed to be taken off, leaving a much more appealing looking vehicle than a doorles D. You still have to take off 4 bolts though and unplug a finicky wire harness (on the newer ones).
Doorless is fun, but get some splitable doors on the D and it'll be just fine.

Just drive it into the Potomac and put it out of its misery.

Is there a reason you want to turn a NAS truck into a white trash ghetto sled?

Need to get more air to your balls as you hang your leg out the door?

I didn't ask the guy his religion or skin color.

I think the problem here is... there are no "friends with wranglers". They're the competition.. and it isn't one. Well maybe the yj.

Hopefully you got done whatever it is you wanted to do... also.. pretty sure maryland "technically" needs latching doors. Tube doors and cloth covered frames count. I may be remembering a neighboring state's rules.

Now today a guy pulled up next to me in traffic with the doors off his xj. THAT is stupid. That thing is unit body.

Of course you didn't. But "White Trash" and "Balls" are obviously vernacular emanating from a Judeo-Christian background...

Clearly you were born racist, insensitive, (to use the Oxford comma,) and privileged and need to be re-educated...

And that's all I have to say about that....
